The blue eye shadow trend that was popular in the 1970s has rolled around once again. Everything from powder blue to navy can be found in fashion as well as makeup. If you’re not really feeling the true blue trend, why not take aqua blue for a test drive?
Create a blue-on-blue look with a twist, thanks to help from this tutorial. Darken the outer corner of your lids with plum-brown shadow, and build up the rest of the eye with dark teal eye shadow and aqua glitter. Apply the color all the way into the inner corner, and line your lower waterline with electric blue pencil. Because this look is all about the eyes, keep your cheeks and lips neutral, so they don’t detract from your gorgeous peepers.

Instructions
1. Prepare your skin for makeup by applying moisturizer with your fingers. Wait a few minutes before proceeding to make sure your skin has fully absorbed the product.
1. Prepare your skin for makeup by applying moisturizer with your fingers. Wait a few minutes before proceeding to make sure your skin has fully absorbed the product.
2. Apply illuminating makeup primer to your face to give your skin a hint of brightness.
3. Apply liquid foundation to your skin, and use a foundation brush to gently press the product into place.
4. Dab concealer below your eyes and onto the lid and inner corners to cover darkness and serve as a primer for eye shadow.
5. Set the concealer by stippling loose powder below your eyes with a powder brush. Stippling presses the powder into the concealer without leaving brush marks.
6. Restore color to your cheeks by patting peach blush onto them with an angled cheek brush. Apply the product from the center of your cheek outward toward the hairline diagonally toward the top of your ear. Swirl the brush to blend away any harsh edges.
7. Warm up the outer perimeter of your face by swirling medium-toned pressed powder along your temples and upper cheekbones.
8. Refine the shape of your brows with brow gel. Put a small drop of brow gel on the back of your hand, and dip the angled brush into it. Carefully outline your brows and brush them into place to diffuse the pigment.
9. Pat eye shadow primer onto your eyelids with your ring finger. Wait a few minutes before applying eye shadow.
10. Use a blending brush to darken the outer corner of the lid as well as the crease of the eye with matte plum-brown eye shadow.
11. Sweep matte dark orange eye shadow along the crease.
12. Pat eye shadow primer onto the inner two-thirds of the lid with a concealer brush.
13. Layer dark teal eye shadow over the primer with a small eye shadow brush.
14. For the wing, draw a short diagonal line from the outer corner of the lid up toward the tail of the brow with the liquid eyeliner pen. Draw a second diagonal line above it to create a small triangle. Fill in the triangle, and line the entire upper lash line.
15. Give the outer corner of the lid a smoky look by applying matte black pressed pigment just above the eyeliner with a flat shadow liner brush.
16. Apply eyelash glue above the dark teal eye shadow.
17. Dip a pointed eyeliner brush into the aqua glitter, and gently press it against the tacky eyelash glue.
18. Line the lower waterline with electric blue eye pencil.
19. Press dark orange eye shadow below the outer-half of the lower lashes with a flat eye shadow brush.
20. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds before applying the false lashes just above your upper lashes.
21. Apply black mascara to the lower lashes.
22. Line your lips with nude lip pencil, and fill them in with champagne shimmer lip gloss.
