Over the years, powder blue eye shadow has gone in and out of fashion. In the '70s, powder blue reigned supreme, and the cheerful hue is back in style in a big way. Thanks in part to Pantone’s 2020 color of the year, Classic Blue, you can expect to see endless azure variations, from subtle pastel daytime looks to head-turning midnight blue evening styles.
The bright combination in this video combines powder and metallic blues with bold false lashes and coral lipstick. Since icy blue eye shadow can look chalky, be sure to blend thoroughly and balance out the shadow with a warmer lip color. If you’re not a fan of false lashes, simply skip that step and apply a couple coats of black mascara instead.

Instructions
1. Gently massage moisturizer into your skin with your fingertips.
1. Gently massage moisturizer into your skin with your fingertips.
2. Pat and press illuminating primer into your skin to help your base makeup last longer.
3. Apply eye shadow primer to the eye area with your fingertips.
4. Sweep pale blue eye shadow along the crease of the eye with a blending brush.
5. Pat metallic blue eye shadow onto the lid with a flat shading brush.
6. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds then apply the lashes just above your upper lashes.
7. Apply foundation to your skin with a foundation brush. Tip: Brush in downward strokes to prevent the tiny hairs on your face from standing up.
8. Apply light-colored concealer below your eyes, above your cupid’s bow, along the bridge of your nose and on the center of your forehead. Press the product in with a damp beauty sponge.
9. Contour your cheeks and forehead with dark-colored concealer. Apply the product below the cheekbones and on the upper corners of the forehead with the product applicator. Press the product into your skin with the damp beauty sponge. Tip: Suck your cheeks in slightly to locate the hollows below your cheekbones. This will help you place the concealer in the proper location.
10. Set the light-colored concealer by pressing setting powder into the skin with the damp beauty sponge.
11. Apply mattifying powder below the hollows of your cheeks with the beauty sponge, but don’t brush the excess off yet.
12. Groom your brows and fill in missing hairs by brushing brow gel or pomade through them with the angled brow brush.
13. Remove the excess powder below your eyes and on your cheeks with a powder brush. Sweep the brush over your entire face to set the rest of your makeup.
14. Warm up your complexion by swirling bronzer along the cheekbones and upper forehead with the powder brush.
15. Give your cheeks a kiss of color by sweeping pinky coral blush onto the apples with a cheek brush.
16. Apply metallic blue eye shadow below the lower lashes with a small eye shadow brush.
17. Darken the lower lashes with black mascara.
18. Brighten the inner corners of your eyes by patting pearl shimmer eye shadow near the tear duct with the small eye shadow brush.
19. Set your makeup by misting your face with setting spray. Tip: Hold the bottle at least 6 inches away from your face to avoid getting wet droplets on your skin.
20. Accentuate your cheekbones by sweeping gold highlighting powder along the top with a tapered brush. Dust a small amount of powder along the bridge of your nose and above the cupid’s bow and brows as well.
