Give glitter a miss with this matte rose makeup look

As the festive season approaches, many of us are thinking about party makeup. That look can often mean one thing: glitter and lots of it. But as eye-catching as glitter is, it's not for everyone. It can be messy and time consuming to apply, and it gives an overly editorial finish. Opting for mattes instead can provide a more polished vibe to party makeup.
Matte makeup needn't be boring. By sticking to a matte finish, you have far more leeway to experiment with colorful tones, and one color family that's perfect for parties is pink. It's surprisingly flattering on any skin tone, and it certainly amps up the fun factor while still being easy to achieve at home. Plus, as we all know, pink makes the boys wink.

Instructions
1. Apply a medium coverage foundation across the whole face with a buffing brush.
2. Apply a full coverage concealer to the under eyes and the high points of the face to highlight.
3. Set your base using a lightly luminous finishing powder on a fluffy brush.
4. Use a powder bronzer on a small fluffy brush to define cheekbones and sculpt your forehead and jaw.
5. Use the same product on a smaller brush to lightly contour the nose.
6. Apply a warm, shimmery blush to the apples of the cheeks.
7. Fill in brows using an angled, waxy pencil.
8. Work a warm, coral eyeshadow (or, in this case, a powder blush) into each eye's crease using a fluffy brush.
9. Use the same full coverage concealer on a small detailer brush to conceal the mobile lid and map out a cut crease on each eye.
10. Cover this concealed area with a matte rose pink eyeshadow on a small brush.
11. Use a lighter pink matte eyeshadow to blend out this shade.
12. Put red cream eyeshadow on a small flat brush and apply it to the outer corner of each eye.
13. Apply a matte burgundy eyeshadow over the red cream shadow of each eye using a small domed brush.
14. Line the upper lashes with a brown kohl pencil.
15. Apply black mascara to the top lashes. For extra drama, apply a fluffy strip lash.
16. Line lips with a cool-toned nude pencil.
17. Apply a cool-toned nude lipstick.
18. Finish with a more pink-toned nude matte liquid lipstick right in the center of the lips.
