Create a dramatic burgundy eye makeup look for an evening wedding

Bridal makeup is as personal as the brides themselves. On your big day, you have the final say in everything, and that includes your makeup. If the main event takes place in the evening, then a dramatic makeup look is in order. This burgundy eye has depth and drama, but it's not overdone.

As with most bold eye makeup looks, the trick is to balance the rest of your features. Pair romantic burgundy eye makeup with radiant skin, a bronzed cheek and dusty pink lips, and you'll attract attention from every corner.

This tutorial features the Soft Glam eye shadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, but all the individual colors are listed, so you can use products you already own. The palette isn't a "must have," but since you'll be using it for your wedding day, the investment may be worth it.

- Luminizing face primer (Benefit Cosmetics' The POREfessional Pearl Primer)
- Pale beige cream eye shadow (MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot)
- Eye shadow brush
- Deep orange matte eye shadow (Burnt Orange in Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette)
- Fluffy blending brush
- Earthy brown matte eye shadow (Sienna in Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam palette)
- Burgundy matte eye shadow (Mulberry in Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette)
- Eyelash curler
- Black mascara (L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise)
- False eye lashes
- Tweezers
- Lash glue (not shown)
- Liquid foundation (L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation)
- Fluffy foundation brush

- Highlighter brush
- Dusty pink lip liner (Rimmel London You’re All Mine)

Instructions
1. Create a radiant base and minimize pores by applying luminizing primer to your entire face with your fingers.

2. Apply pale beige cream eye shadow to the entire eye area with an eye shadow brush to hide discoloration and create a crease-proof base for your eye shadow.

3. Apply deep orange eye shadow with a fluffy blending brush to the outer corner and crease of the eyelid.

4. Apply earthy brown eye shadow in the eyelid crease and slightly above it with the fluffy blending brush.

5. Sweep burgundy eye shadow over the entire lid with the fluffy blending brush.

6. Curl your lashes with the eyelash curler, then apply 1-2 coats of black mascara to the upper lashes. Tip: Do not apply mascara to the lower lashes yet.

7. Pick up the false lashes with the tweezers, then put a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds, then apply the lashes just above your upper lash line.

8. Use a fluffy foundation brush to apply foundation to your face. Tip: To get the best coverage, stipple and swirl the brush against your skin in small circular motions.

9. If you have any dark circles or red spots, cover them with concealer. Using a damp beauty sponge will help set the concealer. Tip: You can also use concealer to highlight the cupid’s bow and brighten the tip of the chin, bridge of the nose and center of the forehead.

10. Tap loose setting powder into the lid of the jar, then dip a damp beauty sponge into the powder. Next, press the powder against the areas where you applied concealer. Let the powder sit for one minute, then sweep away the excess with a fluffy brush.

11. Define your brows and fill in any sparse areas with brow pomade using an angled brow brush.

12. Define the lower lash line by applying earthy brown eye shadow just below the lashes with a small eye shadow brush.

13. Deepen the color below the lower lash line by applying a small amount of mulberry shadow with a small eye shadow brush.

14. Complete your eye makeup by applying mascara to the lower lashes.

15. Give your cheeks a sun-kissed look by dusting bronzing powder along the cheekbones with a fluffy cheek brush.

16. Apply coral blush to the cheeks with the fluffy cheek brush. Start at the center of the apples and brush upward toward the ear in a diagonal line. Tip: Blend the edges fully to diffuse the color and eliminate harsh edges.

17. Remove any powdery residue and set your makeup by spritzing your face with setting spray. Tip: Keep the bottle at least 6 inches away from your skin to prevent the mist from leaving wet droplets on your face.

18. Brush highlighter onto the tops of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and above the cupid’s-bow with a highlighter brush.

19. Line and fill in the lips with dusty pink lip liner.
