How to create a naturally pretty look with lighter eye makeup

If you own an eye shadow palette with dozens of colors, you may be struggling to create a cohesive look. Those big palettes are pretty, but they often lack directions or suggested combinations for applying the shadows correctly. It's true that anything goes in makeup, but having a natural go-to combination will serve you well in the long run.

Natural eye makeup lets you enhance your features without looking obvious. The best way to achieve this effect is to select four colors that complement each other and your skin tone. This tutorial will teach you how to combine ivory, coral, brown, and black for a naturally beautiful result.

Materials
- Ivory eye shadow
- Dome-shaped eye shadow brush
- Coral eye shadow
- Medium brown eye shadow
- Fluffy eye shadow brush
- Brownish-black eye shadow
- Angled eyeliner brush
- Eyelash curler
- Black mascara

Instructions
1. Apply ivory eye shadow to the entire eye area with a dome-shaped eye shadow brush. Sweep the brush from side to side in back and forth motions to ensure you've covered the entire area.

2. Use the flat edge of the brush to sweep coral eye shadow into the crease. This gives your eyes depth without appearing overdone.

3. Use a fluffy brush and medium brown eye shadow to further define the outer corners. Swirl the brush in small circles to avoid creating any harsh lines.

4. Use an angled eyeliner brush to apply brownish-black eye shadow tightly against your upper and lower lash lines. Pressing the brush against the lid instead of dragging it back and forth will prevent excess pigment from settling below your eyes.

5. Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler. Tip: Gently pump the curler a few times. This will curl the lashes without creasing them.

6. Apply two coats of black mascara to the upper and lower lashes.
