Tips and tricks for using a fan brush

Of all the brushes in your makeup arsenal, the fan brush may be the most universal. It looks just like its name implies, and you can use the tips or even the sides to apply a multitude of products. Its design makes quick work of sweeping away eye shadow fallout below your eyes, and you can even use it to apply some types of skin care masks.
Because most people apply bronzer, blush and a highlighter, this tutorial shows how to do it all with just one brush. Keep in mind that you'll need to wipe the brush clean whenever you change colors, though. The last thing you want is to muddy up your artistry. So, check out this quick tutorial and get ready to maximize your fan brush's potential.

Direction
1. This first step only applies to long-haired beauties. Pull your hair up or pin it back before starting. Long hair gets in the way when trying to find your cheekbones.
2. When applying contour powder, sweep the fan brush under your cheekbone to create a shadow. You only need powder on the very top of the brush when doing a contour.
3. If you're applying bronzer, aim a bit higher, so the color hits the higher points on your face that would usually tan when exposed to sunlight. You can use the side of the fan brush here as well if you want a more dramatic effect.
4. Wipe your brush against a clean towel to remove any excess pigment. You don't want the colors to get muddy.
5. For blush, sweep the fan brush above your contour or bronzer in gentle back and forth motions, starting at the apple of your cheek and sweeping upward toward your temple.
6. Last, but not least, dip the brush into the highlighting powder and sweep it above the blush on the upper part of your cheekbones. You can add some to your forehead and cupid's bow as well.
See? One brush really can do it all. Stay pretty!
