Create fierce matte snakeskin nails with this easy DIY design

Although some people have paid up to $300 for an authentic snakeskin manicure at a swanky salon, others prefer to love snakes from afar and rock the pattern without the hefty price tag or use of real snakeskin. If you fit into the second category, this is just the tutorial you need.
This look can be created on every nail or works beautifully as an accent nail. Even though the peach base coat used is subtle and understated, this same technique can be used on a dark or shimmering base coat for a more intense effect.

Materials
- Presto coral gel in SC-142
- Akzentz LED gel lamp
- Kupa non-wipe matte top coat
- 3D Attacker Art-01 brush
- Kupa non-wipe top coat
- Images of snakeskin

Instructions
1. Paint nails with peach gel polish or your base color of choice.
2. Put your hand in the LED lamp, and allow the nails to cure.
3. Apply a layer of clear matte gel top coat.
4. Allow nails to cure under the LED lamp once again.
5. Using a fine point detail brush, create a snakeskin pattern by painting rows of rectangles varying in size diagonally across the nail with glossy clear gel topcoat. Look at photos of snakeskin for inspiration.

6. Cure the design under the LED lamp.
