Update your smoky-eyed look with this season's trending color

For an evening look with timeless style, you’ll never go wrong with a smoky eye. Layers of brown, cocoa, black and pink give the eyes depth and intensity. Although the hot pink trend may not be something you want to embrace when it comes to eye makeup, adding that gorgeous color to your lips is a surefire way to garner attention.
One of the biggest mistakes people make when attempting a smoky-eyed look is starting with dark brown or black eye shadow. You’ll get better results if you build up intensity by using soft brown first and layering the darker shades over it. This look uses black eye shadow instead of eye liner, and a pair of false lashes give the effect a sultry finish. A hot pink pout will liven up this classic look, so choose a shade that fits your style and skin tone.

Instructions
1. Prepare your skin for makeup by applying moisturizer with your fingers. Wait a few minutes before proceeding to make sure your skin has fully absorbed the product.
2. Apply makeup primer to your face with your fingers.
3. Pat eye shadow primer onto your eyelids with your ring finger. Wait a few seconds before applying shadow.
4. Use a blending brush to apply matte peach eye shadow onto the outer corner of your eyelid as well as along the crease of your eye.
5. Layer matte brown eye shadow over the previous color with the blending brush.
6. Darken the outer corner and the outer two-thirds of your crease with cocoa eye shadow.
7. Press black eye shadow against your upper lash line with the flat shader brush.
8. Use the flat shader brush once more to apply pink shimmer eye shadow on the inner two-thirds of your lid.
9. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds, and apply the false lashes just above your upper lashes.
10. Apply liquid foundation to your face with a damp beauty sponge.
11. Brighten the center of your face by applying light-colored concealer below your eyes, on the center of your forehead and chin, along the bridge of your nose and around its outer corners and above the Cupid's bow. Press the product into your skin with a damp beauty sponge.
12. Contour your face by applying dark-colored concealer underneath your cheekbones and along the perimeter of your forehead. Press the concealer into your foundation with the beauty sponge.
13. Stipple peachy pink liquid blush onto the apples of your cheeks with a cheek brush.
14. Swirl bronzer along your cheekbones, temples and upper forehead with the cheek brush.
15. Set the under-eye area as well as the forehead and area below your cheek contour by applying loose powder with the damp makeup sponge. Remove any excess powder with the cheek brush.
16. Layer rose blush over the peachy pink color with the cheek brush.
17. Groom your brows with a spoolie, and fill in missing hairs with brow cream. Use an angled brush for precision.
18. Set your makeup by misting your face with setting spray. Hold the bottle at least 6 inches away from your face to avoid getting wet droplets on your skin.
19. Accentuate your cheekbones and nose by sweeping gold highlighter onto them with a tapered brush.
