For a surprising change of pace, pair royal blue shadow with apricot lipstick

If you don’t follow color trends, you may be surprised to learn that blue is super-hot this season. Every year, the Pantone Color Institute selects a color that reflects global trends in all types of industries, including beauty. “Classic Blue” is 2020’s hue, and this bold eye makeup look captures it in a vibrant way.
When creating this look, you may wonder why the lips and cheeks are so neutral. While the cheeks are barely blushed with a subtle pinky beige, the lips actually have an orange undertone. If those two colors seem like an odd combination, take a look at the color wheel. You’ll learn that orange and blue are complementary colors, which means they look awesome together.

Instructions
1. Apply moisturizer to your face with your fingertips.
2. To ensure your base makeup applies smoothly, pat and press makeup primer into your skin.
3. If your brows are sparse or uneven, fill them in with brow gel or powder.
4. Apply eye shadow primer to your lids with the attached applicator wand, then press the product into your skin with your fingers.
5. Sweep matte brown eye shadow along the crease of your eyelid with a blending brush.
6. Emphasize the outer corners of your crease and lower lash line by applying electric blue shimmer eye shadow with the crease brush.
7. Pat cool matte blue eye shadow onto the inner two-thirds of your lid with a shading brush.
8. Line your upper lash line with black liquid eyeliner.
9. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds, then apply the lashes just above your upper lashes.
10. Apply foundation to your skin with a foundation brush. Apply the product in downward strokes and a stippling motion to avoid leaving brush marks.
11. Cover darkness under your eyes with light-colored concealer. Apply it on the center of your forehead, the bridge of your nose, the outer corners of your nose and on your chin to restore dimension. Press the product into your skin with a damp beauty sponge.
12. Contour the hollows of your cheeks with dark-colored concealer. Tip: Sucking in your cheeks will help you determine the proper location. Press the concealer into your foundation with the damp sponge.
13. Press setting powder into the concealer below your eyes as well as on the center of your forehead with the damp sponge. Brush off the excess powder with a tapered brush.
14. Apply brown matte eye shadow below your lower lashes with a pencil brush.
15. Enhance the outer lower corner of your eye by applying electric blue shimmer eye shadow with the pencil brush.
16. Press cool matte blue eye shadow below the center of your lower lashes with a short-bristled shading brush.
17. Warm up the contours of your face with bronzer. Use a cheek brush to buff the product just below your cheekbones, onto the upper corners of your forehead and along your jawline.
18. Give your skin a flush of color by patting pinky beige blush onto your cheeks with the cheek brush.
19. Set your makeup by misting your face with setting spray. Tip: Hold the bottle at least 6 inches away from your face to avoid getting wet droplets on your skin.
20. Dust gold highlighter along the tops of the cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and above your Cupid’s bow with a tapered brush.
21. Complete the look by applying apricot nude matte liquid lipstick to your lips.
