This winged liner and red lip look is one trend you should follow

What do Sophia Loren, Adele, Audrey Hepburn and Taylor Swift have in common? Besides celebrity status and worldwide recognition, these fabulous ladies share a love of makeup simplicity. While they each have a signature style that varies somewhat, their classic red lips and winged liner are reminders that anyone can look amazing by playing up their pout and peepers.

You can recreate this timeless combination at home with a little practice and the right products. For starters, ditch your eyeliner pencil. Successfully drawing a wing requires gel or liquid liner and an angled brush. If your liquid liner has a felt tip applicator, it will work as well. For the lips, liner is a must. Red lipstick tends to bleed into the lines around the mouth, but lip liner acts as a barrier and prevents feathering.

- Light-colored concealer (NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Vanilla)

- Setting powder (Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder)
- Tapered brush

Instructions
1. Gently massage moisturizer into your skin with your fingertips.

2. Pat and press color correcting primer into your skin to help your base makeup last longer.

3. Apply foundation to your skin in downward strokes using a foundation brush.

4. Apply light-colored concealer below your eyes, above your Cupid’s bow, along the bridge of your nose and on the center of your forehead. Press the product in with a damp beauty sponge.

5. Contour your cheeks, forehead and jawline with dark-colored concealer. Apply it below the cheekbones and on the upper corners of the forehead with the product applicator. Press the concealer into your skin with the damp beauty sponge. Tip: Suck your cheeks in slightly to locate the hollow of your cheek. This will help you place the concealer in the proper location.

6. Set the light-colored concealer by pressing setting powder into your skin with the damp sponge. Apply powder below the dark-colored concealer on your cheeks as well. Brush off the excess powder with a tapered brush.

7. Warm up your complexion by swirling bronzer along your cheekbones and upper forehead with the powder brush.

8. Sweep blush onto your cheeks with the cheek brush.

9. Groom your brows and fill in missing hairs by brushing eyebrow gel or pomade through them with the angled brow brush.

10. Apply eye shadow primer to the eye area with the applicator wand, then pat it in with your fingertips.

11. Sweep cream-colored eye shadow over the entire eye area with the blending brush.

12. Dip an angled liner brush into the black gel eyeliner, and draw a short diagonal line from the outer corner of your lid up toward the tail of your brow. Draw a second diagonal line above it to create a small triangle. Fill in the triangle and line the entire upper lash line as well.

13. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds, then apply the lashes just above your upper lashes.

14. Line your lips with red lip liner. This will prevent the lipstick from feathering into the small lines around your mouth.

15. Fill in your lips with matte red lipstick.
