Try a festive holographic icicle manicure this holiday season

A snowy winter landscape is hard to resist. Just the sight of icicles makes you long for hot cocoa, a roaring fire and a good book. If you need a snow day but live where it’s warm and sunny, try creating this frosty manicure instead.
Light blue polish is the perfect backdrop for an icicle design. If you don’t have glitter polish, make your own by combining clear base coat polish with silver holographic glitter. Space the icicles slightly apart, so you can apply small white lines in between them. This will keep the design from blurring together.

Instructions
1. Paint your nails with two coats of light blue gel polish using the flat brush. Cure the gel between coats with the UV or LED lamp.
2. Mix base coat polish with silver holographic glitter on the notepad using a toothpick.
3. Dip the small round brush into the mixture, and apply vertical lines to the nail. Start at the cuticle, and make the lines various lengths to simulate the look of icicles. Cure the wet polish with the lamp.
4. Paint lines between the glitter lines using white gel polish and the round brush. Paint the nail near the cuticle white as well, and cure the polish with the lamp.
5. Seal your manicure with no-wipe top coat to keep it from chipping. Cure the polish with the lamp once more.
