Retro is all the rage, especially this sunset manicure

Some of the most fashionable manicure designs are inspired by trends from the past. Pop art nails and makeup are all the rage, and this retro sunset manicure combines the best of both the neon and abstract trends. The violet, coral and tangerine sun sets into a bed of wavy white lines as the sky darkens to blue and black.
Layering jelly polish over a white base will give you sheer colors, and a nail decal makes the dotted sun even easier to create. Orient the design so the night sky is closest to your cuticle, and give it a coat of glittery Mylar gel.

Instructions
1. Apply two coats of clear blue gel polish to your nails, and cure between coats with the UV or LED lamp.
2. Paint a circle in the center of your nail using white nail gel. Cure it with the lamp.
3. Cover the upper third of the white circle nearest the nail tip with violet neon gel polish using the short round brush.
4. Layer coral neon gel polish over the center of the white circle.
5. Layer tangerine neon gel polish over the lower third of the white circle. Cure the gel with the lamp.
6. Use the scissors to cut out a circular nail decal of your choice, and place it into a small dish of water. Tip: Use the tweezers to put the decal in the water with the blue paper side down.
7. Let the decal sit in the water for 10–15 seconds. Use the tweezers to lift the decal from the backing, and place the decal over the painted circle on your nail. Press the decal into place with your finger.
8. Paint the area around the circle with black gel polish, but leave the area closest to the cuticle and along each side of the nail unpainted.
9. Fill in the unpainted areas with blue gel polish. Blend the black and blue polishes slightly, and cure with the lamp.
10. Dip the long liner brush in white drawing gel, and paint the sun’s rays. Start by drawing a wavy line around the upper portion of the circle. Next, draw straight lines radiating toward the nail tip.
11. Paint intersecting horizontal lines across the previous lines to create a web design.
12. Layer multicolored Mylar glitter gel on the remaining black polish closest to the cuticle. Cure the wet gel with the lamp.
13. Protect your manicure by applying a layer of non-wipe top coat. Cure the gel one final time.
