This shimmery purple makeup look is perfect for any party

Being invited to a Christmas party is always exciting. But any makeup lover will know it also comes with a lot of stress. What makeup can you wear to attract just the right amount of attention? How much is too much glitter? And how can you put together a look that's achievable at home while still looking professional-grade?
Well, there are certain looks that are perfect answers to all of the above questions — and this is one of them. A purple glittery eye look is festive without being too over-the-top and indicates effort without actually being too tricky to master. And even better, you can add different variants on the shades to create seemingly brand new looks with very little effort required — no matter how many parties you're invited to!

Instructions
1. Use a liquid concealer to prime your eyelids. Buff it into the lids with a mini kabuki brush.
2. Set the concealer using a loose powder and a small, fluffy brush.
3. Take a warm matte brown eye shadow — we used "Truth Hurts" from the Colourpop Give It To Me Straight Palette — on a fluffy brush, and begin defining the crease.
4. Use a vibrant matte purple — we used "A3" from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Pro Pigment Palette Vol. 1 — on a tapered brush to further define the crease.
5. On a flat brush, take a cooler purple tone — we used "B4" from the same Anastasia palette — and apply to the outer portion of your eyelid.
6. Use a shimmery pale — "A1" from the Anastasia palette — to fill in the inner portion of the eyelid.
7. Line the waterline with a black kohl pencil.
8. Use a black liquid eyeliner to define your upper lash line and create a subtle wing.
9. Smoke out the lower lash line using your cooler purple eye shadow on a detailer brush.
10. Fill in your eyebrows using a pomade and a small angled brush.
11. Apply a smoothing primer all over your skin to blur imperfections and fill in pores.
12. Use a kabuki brush to apply a medium coverage foundation to the skin.
13. Highlight and conceal the undereyes using the same concealer you used to prime. You can also highlight the forehead, bridge and tip of the nose, and the chin.
14. Set your concealer with loose powder.
15. Use a pressed powder a couple of shades too dark for your skin to contour the cheekbones, forehead and jawline.
16. Apply a warm shimmery blush to the apples of your cheeks.
17. Accentuate your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose with a shimmery powder highlight.
18. Line and fill in your lips with a nude lip pencil.
19. Finish the look with a warm nude liquid lipstick. Blend in with a finger for a more natural effect.
