Red lips and neutral eyes are the key to this ageless sophistication makeup look

If there’s only one makeup look you need to master, it’s this one. Bold, red lips are the epitome of timeless glamour, while neutral eye shadow offers balance and sophistication. Long, faux lashes bring just enough drama to the eyes without appearing overdone. The result is a look that you can pull off for almost any event, whether it’s a ritzy gala or Sunday brunch with friends.
Another reason to make this look part of your repertoire? Many of the products used in it are vanity table staples. Anyone would do well to own a classic red lipstick that matches their skin tone. You also can’t go wrong with having a palette of neutral eye shadows, as you’ll likely reach for them no matter what look you’re trying on next.

Instructions
1. Rub in a moisturizing facial cream with sunscreen to hydrate and protect your skin from sun damage. Pat your skin until it has absorbed all the cream.
2. Rub the Smashbox Photo Finish Reduce Redness Primer into your cheeks, above your lips and into any other trouble spots that need evening out.
3. Load “Soft Ochre” or an eye shadow primer onto your eyelid up to your brow bone with a large eye shadow brush. Use a stippling motion to distribute the primer evenly without damaging the sensitive skin around your eyes.
4. Apply “Omega” or a matte tan eye shadow to the outer V of your lid and along the crease with a fluffy eye shadow brush.
5. Use the same brush to apply “Saddle” or a matte orange-brown shadow inside and beneath the shadow you applied in step 4. Apply shadow up to the middle of your lid.
6. Apply “Tempura” or an ivory shadow to the inside of your lid with a small shadow brush.
7. Apply faux eyelashes. Allow the lash glue to set.
8. Use a foundation brush to apply a liquid foundation to your face. Apply Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Concealer or the concealer of your choice beneath your eyes and along your cheeks. Using a stippling motion, blend in with the tapered end of a blending sponge.
9. Dab setting powder across your cheeks and forehead with the tapered end of a blending sponge.
10. Fill in and shape your brows with the products and method of your choice. One option is to use an angled brow brush to fill in your brows with brow powder, then shape them with a spoolie.
11. Apply “Omega” or a matte tan shadow to your lash line with an eye shadow detail brush. Use the edge of a small shadow brush to apply “Saddle” or a matte orange-brown shadow just above the matte tan shadow. Apply mascara to your lower lashes.
12. Apply bronzer just below your cheekbones with a bronzer brush. Go back and sweep the blush with a blush brush on the apples of your cheeks, just above the bronzer.
13. Apply lipstick to your lower lip. Press your lips together. Use the tip of the lipstick to fill in your top lip and other areas that aren’t yet filled in. With that, your ageless sophistication makeup look is complete!
