Try rocker makeup with a sultry sparkle

At some point, makeup fans test the waters by wearing sultry, smoky makeup. Even if it’s just for one occasion, there’s something innately powerful about wearing dark eye shadow. Edginess somehow makes us feel confident.
If you’re thinking about trying a sultry style, check out YouTube and watch how the rockers do it. There’s more to this look than just smudging black eyeliner, though. To keep the style from going grunge, limit the black liner and shadow to the outer corners of the upper lid. Brighten the eyes with brown shimmer and a pair of eye-opening false lashes. This is an intense look, so keep the cheeks and lips subtle for overall balance.

Instructions
1. Apply concealer with the applicator wand to cover discoloration and prepare your eye area for shadow. Pat the product into your skin with your fingertips.
2. Pat loose setting powder on top of the concealer with a large eye shadow brush to prevent creasing.
3. Sketch out the perimeter of your lid using black eye pencil. Draw a short diagonal line from the outer corner upward toward the brow. Draw a second line from the diagonal toward the center of the lid, but leave a gap in the middle about the same width as your iris. Draw the remaining line from the inner corner back toward the inner edge of the iris.
4. Apply black matte eye shadow with the shader brush to smoke out the wing and inner corner.
5. Fill in the center of the lid with sienna brown eye shadow. Use the shader brush to blur the color slightly with the black shadow.
6. Pat brown eye shimmer onto the center of the lid, and use the large eye shadow brush to blend the colors together slightly in the crease.
7. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds, and apply the lashes just above your upper lashes.
8. Apply makeup primer with your fingertips to prepare your skin for foundation.
9. Apply foundation to your face, and press the product into your skin with a foundation brush.
10. Apply concealer below your eyes, along the center of your nose and on the center of your forehead. Press in the product with a kabuki brush or your ring finger.
11. Stroke cream contour stick onto your forehead, temples, cheekbones and jawline to give your face more dimension. Gently swirl and pat the product into your skin with a kabuki brush.
12. Press loose setting powder into the concealed areas of your face with a small powder brush.
13. Apply bronzer with a cheek brush to warm up your cheekbones, temples and forehead.
14. Pat copper blush onto the apples of your cheeks with the cheek brush.
15. Apply black eye pencil on your lower waterline, and use the shader brush to work some of the pigment into the lashes.
16. Darken your lower lashes with a single coat of black mascara.
17. Define your lips with brownish nude lip liner.
18. Fill in your lips with pinky nude lipstick using the lip brush.
19. Pat pearly quartz highlighter onto the inner corner of your eye near the tear duct with the shader brush.
