Skip the Halloween costume and create a pop art makeup look instead

Just as pop art pokes fun at art itself, pop art makeup can turn you into a comic book character just in time for Halloween.
This beginner-friendly technique uses thin lines to emphasize key features, such as the eyes, cheekbones, mouth, nose and chin. Unlike traditional makeup that strives to look natural, this over-the-top style is intentionally bold.

Instructions
1. Apply eye shadow primer to the lid with a concealer brush. Do not prime the entire area. Apply the product below the crease, and extend it slightly at the outer corner in a wing shape. Make sure it reaches to the inner corner above the tear duct.
2. Layer yellow pressed pigment over the eye shadow primer with the flat eye shadow brush. Pat the pigment onto the lid to prevent fallout below the eye.
3. Outline the yellow pigment with black liquid eyeliner, and line the upper lash line as well.
4. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds, and apply the lashes just above the upper lash line.
5. Apply black mascara to the natural lashes, being careful not to coat the false lashes.
6. Brighten eyes by applying white eye pencil on the lower waterline.
7. Prepare skin for makeup by applying makeup primer to the face.
8. Apply foundation to the face with a foundation brush in stippling motions.
9. Disguise dark circles and brighten the under-eye area by pressing concealer into the skin with a short-bristled buffing brush.
10. Set the concealer to prevent it from cracking by pressing powder foundation into it with a powder brush. If your skin is oil-prone, apply additional powder to oily areas.
11. Draw thick lines on the cheekbones and jaw with the black eyeliner. Draw curved lines between the brows and between the lower lip and chin. Define the nose with parallel lines, and add a little circle on the tip.
12. Use white liquid eyeliner to further emphasize the black lines between the brows as well as those on the nose and chin.
13. Fill in brows with brow gel using an angled brush for precision.
14. Apply tomato-red lipstick with a lip brush.
15. Outline lips with black liquid liner.
16. Emphasize lip contours by drawing thin lines with white liquid eyeliner.
17. Dip the bottom of the white eye pencil in the white gel eyeliner, and press the pencil below the black line on the cheekbone several times to create large dots. Continue making dots in a diagonal line until the entire area between the cheekbone and jaw is filled.

18. Repeat step 17 and apply dots on the other cheek between the temple and the cheekbone line.
