For a look that will turn heads, try this striking dragon braid

If you’ve mastered the art of braiding and are ready to try a style that stands out, the dragon braid is a good place to start. This braid has a dramatic raised texture, but it’s actually not very hard to do at home. If you can make a ponytail, you’ll be able to achieve this look with ease.
Before trying this style, take a close look at the finished braid in the image that follows. You’ll notice a sequence of ponytails aligned down the center. Each ponytail is divided in half to form the outer sides of the braid, and another ponytail forms the center. Because learning how to handle multiple sections of hair at one time can be tricky, use a hair clamp to keep the loose section out of your face while you’re getting acclimated to the process.

Instructions
1. Part your hair down the middle, and use the rattail comb to create a 2-inch section of hair at the crown. Pull the section back into a small ponytail, and secure it with a hair elastic.
2. Pull the ponytail forward so it is resting on your forehead.
3. Create a second ponytail right behind the first one, and secure it with an elastic.
4. Lift the first ponytail, divide it into two sections, and wrap the hair around the second ponytail. Temporarily secure that ponytail on the top of your head so it is out of the way.
5. Combine the hair in your hand with additional hair to make a third ponytail.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all of your hair is braided.
