Lift your spirits with this rainbow makeup look

Remember using every color in the crayon box? Bright hues make us smile, and a rainbow is cause for celebration after a big storm. Whether you love rainbows for their vibrancy or have a pride festival on your calendar, you’ll love this look. It combines seven shades with loose glitter for a head-turning effect.

Since color intensity is key here, start with a good eye shadow base that hides discoloration. Highly pigmented shades look best when applied over a white or ivory base. To complete the rainbow, work from the outer corner inward. Do one eye completely and then the other, since the colors are different for each eye. Add a touch of gold glitter at the very end because, of course, there’s always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

- Flat eye shadow brush

Instructions
1. Apply eyelid primer with a concealer brush to create a smooth base for the vibrant eye shadow.

2. Apply pink pressed pigment to the outer corner of your left eye with a blending brush.

3. Pat red pressed pigment next to the pink with a blending brush, overlapping the colors slightly.

4. Apply orange pressed pigment to the middle of the lid with a blending brush.

5. Pat yellow pressed pigment on the inner corner of the eyelid with a blending brush.

6. Soften the upper portion of all four colors with a blending brush.

7. Repeat steps 2 through 6 underneath the lower lashes using a flat eye shadow brush. Be sure to apply all four colors in the same order as above, so that the upper and lower colors match.

8. Apply fuchsia pressed pigment to the outer corner of the right eye with a blending brush.

9. Pat blue pressed pigment next to the fuchsia with a blending brush, overlapping the colors slightly.

10. Apply green pressed pigment to the middle of the lid with a blending brush.

11. Pat yellow pressed pigment on the inner corner of the eyelid with a blending brush.

12. Soften the upper portion of all four colors with a blending brush.

13. Repeat steps 8 through 12 underneath the lower lashes using a flat eye shadow brush. Be sure to apply all four colors in the same order as above.

14. Brighten the eye by applying nude eyeliner pencil to the lower waterline.

15. Apply two coats of black mascara to your lashes.

16. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds, then apply the lashes just above your upper lash line.

17. Massage vitamin C serum into your skin to prep it for makeup.

18. Seal in your serum with a layer of moisturizer.

19. Apply makeup primer to give your foundation added staying power.

20. Even out your skin by applying liquid foundation with a foundation brush or damp beauty sponge.

21. Brighten the under-eye area by applying concealer with the applicator wand. Press the concealer into your foundation with the foundation brush.

22. Set your foundation by applying matching powder foundation over it with a dense powder brush. Tip: Stipple the powder onto your skin, so you don’t disturb the foundation underneath.

23. Give your face a sun-kissed glow by applying bronzer to your cheeks with a cheek brush.

24. Pat copper blush onto your cheeks with a cheek brush.

25. Prevent your lipstick from feathering into lip lines by outlining your lips with brownish nude lip liner.

26. Fill in your lips with brown lipstick using a lip brush.

27. Make your eyes sparkle by applying loose gold glitter to the inner corners with the flat eye shadow brush.
