Achieve a striking sapphire makeup look by layering blue on blue

Whether you’re trying out a new look for a festival or just wanting to improve your eye makeup skills, bright colors can present a challenge. Often, the color in the pan does not live up to your expectations. Poor pigmentation can be remedied by layering, but when you want a truly bright effect, you need to employ a few additional steps.
This bright sapphire makeup look requires multiple shades of blue plus two separate priming layers. Build the intensity one color at a time, but leave the center of the lid blank at first. Light colors, like pearl, need an unpigmented base if you want them to show up. Prime the center of the lid twice to get the best results.

Instructions
1. Outline your brows and fill in missing hairs with brow pomade and an angled brush.
2. Sharpen the brow outline by brushing liquid foundation above and below the brows with a flat concealer brush.
3. Prepare the entire eye area for shadow by buffing eyelid primer into the skin with a flat-topped buffing brush.
4. Sweep bright blue eye shadow onto the inner and outer corners of the eye as well as the crease and below the lower lashes with a blending brush. Do not apply eye shadow to the center of the lid.
5. Layer royal blue eye shadow over the bright blue color with a small crease brush.
6. Darken the inner and outer corners of the lid by applying navy blue eye shadow with the small crease brush.
7. Pat eyelid primer onto the center of the lid with the concealer brush then pat the product in with your fingertip.
8. Pat pearl eye shadow onto the center of the lid with the flat eye shadow brush.
9. Apply two coats of black mascara to your lashes.
10. Hold the false lashes with the tweezers, and apply a small amount of lash glue onto the lash band. Let the glue set for 10 seconds then apply the lashes just above your upper lash line.
11. Apply black gel eyeliner below the lower lashes and on the lower waterline with a pencil brush.
12. Apply primer to the T-zone to blur pores and prepare your face for foundation.
13. Apply foundation to your entire face with a foundation brush.
14. Brighten the center of your face and restore dimension by applying light-colored concealer to the center of your forehead, down the center of your nose, below your eyes, above the cupid’s bow and on the chin. Pat the product into your skin with a damp beauty sponge.
15. Contour your upper forehead, temples and cheeks by applying dark-colored concealer with the applicator wand. Stipple the concealer into your foundation with an angled contouring brush, and blend away harsh edges with a damp beauty sponge.
16. Press powder foundation onto the concealed areas of your face with a damp beauty sponge.
17. Warm up the cheeks, temples and forehead by dusting on warm tan bronzer with a cheek brush.
18. Give your face a kiss of color by dusting coral eye shadow onto the apples of your cheeks with a tapered brush.
19. Highlight your cheekbones, cupid’s bow, nose, and forehead with beige shimmer eye shadow. Using a tapered brush will make the application more precise.
20. Outline your lips with nude lip liner to give them definition. This will also prevent your lipstick from feathering into the small lines around your mouth.
21. Fill in your lips with nude lip cream.
22. Apply pale beige lipstick to the center of your lips with a lip brush.
