Create a nontraditional smoky-eyed makeup look for fall

Autumn weather means the return of heavier clothing and richer colors. Leaves adopt their royal hues, and makeup trends follow suit. As your summer tan fades, grab a good bronzing powder and fake that sun-kissed glow. While neutrals will always be in fashion, purple, burgundy and gold eye shadow are perfect for a Thanksgiving holiday.
This tutorial features an unusual smoky eye, but the requisite winged liner has been retained. Layering eye shadow over light-colored concealer will give you the truest color, but a skin-colored cream shadow will also work. Keep the cheeks and lips subtle, so all the attention will be on your beautiful eyes.

Instructions
1. Apply your foundation with a foundation brush then press any remaining product into the skin with a damp beauty sponge.
2. Outline your brows and fill in sparse areas with eyebrow pencil.
3. Prepare your eyelids by applying light-colored concealer with the applicator wand and pressing it in with a buffing brush.
4. Apply dusty purple eye shadow on the outer corner of the lid, in the crease and below the lower lashes with a blending brush.
5. Sweep burgundy eye shadow over the purple with the blending brush to intensify the crease, corner.
6. Apply royal purple eye shadow below the lower lashes with a crease brush.
7. Darken the outer corner of the upper lid using black eye shadow and a pencil brush.
8. Pat gold metallic eye shadow on the inner two-thirds of the lid with a flat eye shadow brush.
9. Line the upper lid using black gel eyeliner and a fine-tipped eyeliner brush. To create the wing, draw a short diagonal line from the outer corner up toward the tail of the brow. Draw a second line from the middle of the lid outward, and connect it to the wing. Fill in any gaps, so that the wing is complete.
10. Apply two coats of black mascara to your lashes.
11. Contour the perimeter of your face as well as underneath the cheekbones by applying dark-colored concealer with the applicator wand. Lightly buff the product into your foundation with a contouring brush. Use a damp beauty sponge to blur the edges of the concealer, so that there are no harsh edges.
12. Set your foundation and concealer by applying pressed powder to your face with a powder brush.
13. Warm up the skin by brushing bronzer over the tops of the cheekbones and along the upper forehead with a cheek brush.
14. Accent the upper cheekbones and temples by applying gold highlighter with a powder brush.
15. Line your lips with nude lip liner, and then fill them in with matching nude lipstick.
