A fun way to go when choosing your makeup style for a big event is to take inspiration from the past. The golden era of extravagant party looks is undoubtedly the '80s. Choosing to go for a disco-esque look will ensure you stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons.

- Full coverage concealer (Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer)
- Matte finishing powder (Cover FX Matte Setting Powder)
- Warm powder bronzer (Urban Decay Beached Bronzer (Bronzed))
- Smoky eyeshadow palette (Moodstruck Addiction Shadow Palette 2)
- Black gel eyeliner (Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof Crème Color (Jet))
- Black pencil eyeliner (L.A. Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner (Black Magic))
- Liquid glitter eyeshadow (Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow (Kitten))
- Champagne highlighter (Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit (Moonstone))
- Black mascara (L'Oréal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara)
- Brow gel (Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow (15 - Blonde))

1. Apply a full coverage concealer over your entire eyelid. This will help cancel out any discoloration, plus ensure your eyeshadows show up as vibrantly as possible. Set this concealer with a translucent loose powder to ensure your shadows can blend more easily.

2. Take a matte warm bronzer and build up color in your crease to add definition to the eyelid.

3. Take a warm, matte gray eyeshadow. We used the shade Honorable from the Moodstruck Addiction Shadow Palette 2. Work this color into the crease.

4. Take a deeper gray shade, like Cocky from the same palette. Use this shade to add even more intensity to your crease.

5. Take an intensely reflective silver eyeshadow—we used Blissful. Apply this on the inner part of your mobile lid.

6. Sketch out a wing on your outer corners using an angled brush and a black gel eyeliner.

7. Use your original, warm, matte gray eyeshadow to smoke out your lower lashline. Intensify with the darker gray shade.

8. Apply a black kohl eyeliner in your lower and upper waterline.

9. Take a neutral shade of a liquid glitter eyeshadow, and tap with a finger over the centre of your lids.

10. Apply an intensely reflective highlighter in your inner corner.

11. Apply black mascara to top and bottom lashes. Consider adding false eyelashes for even more drama.

12. Fill in eyebrows to add more definition and structure to the look. Comb through for a natural finish.

13. Use the same intense highlighter shade underneath your brow bone.
