Create a glowy-eyed look with a hint of gloss

One of the hottest trends in makeup can be one of the toughest looks to pull off. A truly spectacular glossy lid catches the light and looks wet and shiny. There's only one problem, though: The products used to create this effect can be goopy, sticky, and downright uncomfortable.
You need to understand a few things before jumping on this trend. First, your base must be smooth. Gloss will emphasize texture, and if you put gloss on top of glitter, you'll have one clumpy mess. Use matte eye shadow with a touch of highlighting powder on the inner corners of your eyes.

Also, choose a lightweight, long-wearing product for the gloss. Avoid anything runny or sticky; it won't feel any better on your lids than it does on your lips. Keep the application light, and avoid the crease area.

Instructions
1. Fill in your brows with black-brown eyebrow pencil, then use the spoolie to diffuse the pigment.
2. Apply quartz highlighting powder onto the eyelid with a small eye shadow brush, then pat the color in with your fingertip.
3. Sweep matte camel brown eye shadow onto the crease of the eye with a fluffy blending brush. Pat the shadow in with your fingertip to remove any excess color.
4. Dab a tiny amount of clear lip gloss onto the lid.
5. Highlight the inner corner of your eye by applying quartz highlighting powder near the tear duct with a tapered eye shadow brush.
6. Apply two coats of black mascara to your lashes, if desired. Note: This step is not shown because the model has eyelash extensions.
