Instructions
1. Before you can apply makeup, your skin must be prepped to tackle the underlying redness. After cleansing, apply a few drops of redness-fighting serum to your cheeks, chin, and forehead. Gently massage the serum into your skin, using your fingertips. Allow the serum to fully absorb in your skin before moving on to the next step.
2. Next, apply a redness-calming cream or moisturizer with your fingertips, using an upward-outward motion. Use over your entire face and allow a few minutes to absorb.
3. To make sure your foundation, powder, and other makeup stays in place, apply a few drops of a waterproof makeup primer to your skin. Gently dab in place with your fingertips, focusing on your cheeks, forehead, and nose. Let the primer dry.
4. Now you're ready to apply your foundation. For the most natural-looking results, choose a color that's closest to your skin tone, or one shade lighter. (You can test the color ahead of time by blending it in your jaw line to see if it matches.) A full-coverage formula will also do a better job at concealing redness than a medium-coverage foundation. Apply the foundation in small vertical streaks with a small concealer brush. Then, blend the foundation into your face using a large foundation brush, using a downward-outward motion.
5. Next, apply color-correcting concealer on top of your foundation, using the small applicator that the product comes with (if you're using a palette version, use a small concealer brush). Apply the concealer in small lines where you experience redness—this includes your cheeks, the sides of your nose, above your mouth, and between your eyebrows. Gently dab into your skin with a makeup sponge until the concealer is completely blended in (don't rub!).
6. Finish your redness-fighting routine by applying translucent powder with your makeup sponge, gently patting the product over your concealer. Let set in for five minutes before you move on to the rest of your makeup routine.
Easy does it! Once you've wrapped up these six redness-fighting steps, you're ready to apply any other makeup or wear a natural look so you can move on and face the day.
