Get out of an eyeshadow rut by using the shades of summer

It doesn't matter how old you are, summer often stirs up fond memories. Days spent seaside with nary a care in the world, warm sand, and cool ocean breezes are enough to make anyone want to ditch work and head for the beach.
If that seaside trip is on hold due to work or other obligations, perk up your attitude and your eye makeup with a vibrant look using summer's hottest hues. Orange and blue sound like a catastrophic combination, but they're actually complementary colors that look great together. The trick is to balance the shades, so the majority of the look is warm and natural with that sparkly blue drawing attention to your eyes.

Instructions
1. Frame your eyes by filling in your brows with brow gel using the applicator brush.
2. Conceal darkness and create a base for eyeshadow by applying nude eyeshadow primer on the entire eye area. Use your fingers to blend and press the product into your skin.
3. Sweep metallic orange eyeshadow onto the crease and outer corner of the lid with an eyeshadow brush. Blend to ensure there are no harsh edges.
4. Heavily apply bright blue eyeshadow stick to the lower waterline, then smudge the product below the lashes using a flat eyeshadow brush.
5. Pat metallic aqua eyeshadow below the lower lashes using the flat eye shadow brush.
6. To make the upper lashes look thicker, use the black eyeliner pencil to tightline the outer two-thirds of the lash line. To do this, position the eyeliner pencil below the upper lashes, then press the eyeliner into the upper waterline. Tip: This technique works especially well if you have a small eyelid because it does not minimize lid space.
7. Brighten the eye by patting sheer gold eye shadow onto the center of the lid with your finger. Tip: Shimmer and glitter shadows apply better when you use your fingers instead of a brush.
8. Apply one or two coats of black mascara to your lashes.
Enjoy your summer staycation look. Stay pretty!
