This stunning purple makeup look is perfect for brown eyes

If you want to make your eyes pop with makeup, it's well worth getting a grip on basic color theory. The idea is that choosing a color close to the opposite of the color spectrum can make both shades stand out more. And nowhere is this more true than when it comes to your eyes. While every eye color can be tried with every tone, going for one strong contrast can always produce a stunning look.
If you have brown eyes, opting for a purple eye shadow style can be the perfect way to go. While purple is not so bright that it looks disparate and stark, it's eye-catching enough to lift a makeup look. And by pairing shades of violet with deeper eye colors, you can ensure your eyes look totally mesmerizing, too.

Instructions
1. Fill in your eyebrows using a pomade and an angled brush. Comb through with a spoolie to blend.
2. Take a warm light brown eye shadow (we used "Sweet Tea" from the Maybelline Lemonade Craze Palette), and work into the crease.
3. Take a matte light purple eye shadow (we used the lighter purple shade from the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette), and build up the shade in the crease.
4. Take a darker purple matte eye shadow (we used the darker purple from the same NYX palette) and deepen the crease, focusing mostly on the outer corner.
5. Apply a shimmery purple loose pigment across the lid. Buff the shade upward to blend it with the crease.
6. Work your darker purple matte eye shadow into the lower lash line.
7. Apply black mascara to your top and bottom eyelashes.
8. Take a shimmery champagne-toned highlighter (we used "Moonstone'"from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit), and apply it to the inner corner and along the brow bone. Blend in with a finger.
