How to get a cool, back-to-school chalkboard look

Most people shudder when they think of nails on a chalkboard, but what if you bring the chalkboard to your nails? This school-themed nail trend will make you feel like you're back in school and the coolest kid around.

In this design, bright white letters and symbols pop against a dark green background. The look is finished off with a matte top coat to capture the true texture and finish of a classroom chalkboard.

Materials
-Young Nails Mission Control Gel Paint in "Overdrive" (Black Gel Polish)
-Young Nails Mission Control Gel Paint in "Fizz" (White Gel Polish)
-Young Nails Mission Control Gel Paint in "Giant" (Green Gel Polish)
-Kupa Gelfinity Matte Gel Top Coat
-Sticky notes
-Detail nail art brush
-Small Flat Gel Polish Application Brush
-Toothpick or other small mixing tool

Instructions
1. Mix a dab of black gel polish into the green gel polish using a tooth pick to make a dark green base coat.

2. Paint two layers of base coat using the mixture from step 1 and the gel polish application brush.

3. Once the base coat is dry, make several white strokes at random using the detail nail art brush dipped in white gel paint. While the paint is still wet, dab off these brush strokes using a sticky note. The goal is to leave behind a subtle cloudy film, imitating a recently erased chalk board.

4. Fill the nail with mathematical symbols, letters, or words using the detail nail art brush dipped in white gel paint. This is where your creativity comes in! You may refer to your favorite subject for inspiration on which designs to make.

5. Seal your design with a matte top coat.
