Create an edgy jelly manicure with a bling accent

Jelly nails have a perpetually wet look and are a nice change of pace from opaque manicures. This fierce look would be right at home on Halloween, Valentine’s Day or any day of the week. The combination of crimson and rhinestones is both unique and edgy.

To create this look, shape the nails into a stiletto point. (After all, the shape is as much a part of the design as the polish.) When choosing a rhinestone accent, pull out all the stops and go for a full-size pear-shaped stone surrounded by sparkling accents. The gemstone in this tutorial is similar to mystic fire topaz, which features all the colors of the rainbow and pairs beautifully with the crimson jelly.

Materials
- Crimson jelly nail polish
- UV or LED lamp (not shown)
- Builder nail gel
- Fine-detail nail brush
- Rhinestone accent with large gemstone
- Nail tweezers
- No-wipe gel topcoat

Instructions
1. Apply two coats of crimson jelly nail polish to the nails. Cure the polish in between coats with the UV or LED lamp.

2. Apply builder nail gel to the center of the nail with the detail brush.

3. Use the nail tweezers to pick up the rhinestone accent, then place it into the wet builder gel. Cure the polish with the lamp.

4. Apply no-wipe gel topcoat around the rhinestone accent, then cure the polish once more with the lamp.

This vampy look is anything but shy, so try it out for a special occasion. You’re bound to get more than a few compliments.
