Learn how to master a double twisted ponytail

On hot or windy days, a hairstyle needs to keep everything in place and off the face. If a braid is too complicated, but a ponytail looks too plain, it's time for a happy medium. Twisted hair designs have texture and dimension, plus they're fun to do.
In the following video, there are two different tutorials for creating a double twisted ponytail. The first hairstyle uses bobby pins to secure the double twists in place while progressing downward, while the second version includes clear elastics as part of the finished design. Both options are cute and playful, so pick whichever one suits your style and your schedule.

Instructions for a double twisted ponytail with bobby pins
1. Separate a small section of hair on the top of the head and secure it with a hair clamp. This section will ultimately be combined with the finished ponytail and will help hide the upper elastic.
2. Divide the ponytail into two sections and twist each section inward towards the middle. Use bobby pins to hold the two twists together by pushing one prong into the middle of each twist. These can be left in place during the finished style or removed.
3. Continue twisting and pinning as explained in step two until the full length of the ponytail is complete. Secure the ends of the hair with an elastic and tuck the loose ends up if desired.
4. Fluff up the twisted hair by gently pulling it apart then insert a spin pin at the bottom and another one mid-ponytail to hold the style together.
5. Release the upper section of the hair and smooth it over the top of the head then wind the ends around the ponytail holder. Pin in place with a bobby pin.
