Create an easy updo with a hair donut on top

Updo hairstyles work well for rushed mornings or casual on-the-go looks. They seem stylish and effortless, but creating one without a hair donut is beyond challenging. If you've never used one of these handy round tools before, now's the time. It's an effective way to keep hair in place all day long, and it holds its shape (unlike hair alone).
To achieve this quick look, watch the following tutorial at least once. It's best to select a hair donut that closely matches your natural hair color so it will be invisible to the naked eye. Bobby pins will help hold the hair in place, and adding a spin pin will keep the whole thing intact even for those with thick hair. To add a touch of dramatic flair, grab a colorful hair extension to include at the front.

4. Secure the bun with bobby pins.
5. Use hair spray and a fine-toothed comb to smooth down any flyaway hair.
6. Place the base of the hair extension at the front bottom edge of the donut and wrap the hair up over it and tuck it into the top.
