How to achieve super straight hair with a flat iron

When it comes to hair, we often want what we don't have. If you were born with curls, you probably yearn for a sleek look occasionally. Believe it or not, straight-haired beauties often take extra pains to make their locks look super smooth. The key to a good result that lasts all day and then some is to use a flat iron.
Many flat irons have adjustable temperatures, so start off on the lowest setting to see how your hair handles the heat. Brush out all the tangles before starting because the iron can damage your hair if you don't. Increase heat gradually as needed, just until hair is straight. Apply even pressure and slide the iron downward in small sections. It's best to straighten several small sections rather than trying to flatten a large section all at once. You'll look sleek and sophisticated and ready to tackle the world.

Instructions
1. Brush your hair from roots to ends with a hairbrush to make sure the surface is completely smooth.
2. Use your fingers to section your hair into two parts, starting at the top of your ears. Lift the top section up and secure it with a hair elastic, so it is out of the way.
3. Brush the lower section of hair until it's smooth, and use a flat iron to straighten the hair. Gently clamp the iron around the hair and slide the iron downward toward the ends for best results.
4. Remove the elastic, and repeat step three by ironing sections of hair until everything is completely straight.
5. Apply hair spray to your hair, and brush through it once more to tame any flyaway hairs.
6. If you have shorter hair near the front, sweep it off to one side and pin it in place with a bobby pin. Pull a small section of hair over the bobby pin to hide it.
7. Apply more hair spray. If you have baby hairs at the top of your forehead, sweep them into place with a clean toothbrush.
