Metallic Matte Nails

While the film itself has a sheen, it can easily be mattified to suit the current trend by adding a matte gel top coat to the mix.

This nail tutorial is all about shades of fall with a little edginess. The black base shade creates the perfect backdrop for accent colors in shades of red, green and gold. When the matte top coat is applied, the finished design changes colors slightly, which will give the manicure a unique appearance.

Materials
- Black gel polish (shown: Young Nails Mission Control Gel Polish in "Overdrive")
- Nail brush, optional
- UV lamp (not shown)
- Clear gel base coat
- Gradient metallic nail transfer film
- Clear matte gel top coat

Instructions
1. Make sure nails are clean, dry, and free of oils or old polish.

2. Apply 1-2 coats of black gel polish with the nail art brush, if preferred, and cure with the UV lamp.

3. Apply one layer of clear gel base coat. Do not wait for it to dry before proceeding.

4. While clear coat is still tacky, press a small square of metallic nail transfer film against each nail. Cure as needed.

5. Apply the clear matte gel and cure fully.
