How to do a top knot

A typical top knot is an easy style that doesn't take a lot of time to create, but what if you want to change it up? Instead of pulling all your hair into a bun, this video shows you how to section off just the top of your hair for an adorable and easy way to rock an updo.
What about all the extra loose hair? You can curl it, add waves or even make it straight. Either way, this style is incredibly easy and is an ideal everyday look. For an extra undone and casual appearance, pull out small sections of the top knot before securing it into place.
- Hair wand
- Brush or comb with a tail
- Clear elastic
- Four bobby pins
1. Create waves in hair with the hair wand.
2. Brush hair backward and section off hair from the top of the head using the tail of a brush or comb.
3. Tie this top section of hair into a ponytail and secure it with the elastic.
6. Backcomb the hair of the ponytail.
7. Wrap the ponytail around itself to form the top knot. Pull out small pieces of hair until it looks the way you like.
8. Secure it by adding bobby pins to the front, back and sides of the knot.

To make your hair goals a reality, all you need is a straightener. You can even achieve lovely curled locks using this tool with these tips and tricks.
