How to use concealer for long-lasting lipstick

If long-lasting lipstick is on your wish list, you're definitely not alone. Between talking, eating and drinking, lip color tends to fade, and touching up can be a real drag. Although several long-lasting lipsticks are on the market, most of them can be incredibly drying. In addition, dehydrated lips are unappealing and uncomfortable.
To make lipstick last longer, you need to apply some sort of product to prime the lip surface. The primer acts as a barrier between your lip and the lipstick. This gives color more staying power plus a smooth underlying surface. If you've never tried using concealer under lipstick, watch the quick tutorial to see the steps in action. When you're ready to give it a go yourself, follow these easy directions.

Materials
- Liquid concealer
- Damp beauty sponge
- Lipstick
- Cotton swab (optional)
Instructions
1. Apply a few dots of concealer on your lips. Liquid concealer works better than cream because of the lightweight texture and consistency. If you'll be using concealer on your face as well, it's best to use a cotton swab to apply it to your lips to keep the product sanitary.
2. Lightly press the concealer into place using your fingers or a damp beauty sponge. Try to get the layer completely even, and let it set before moving on. If it's still damp or tacky, it will mix with the lipstick and change the color.
3. Apply the lipstick to your lips, and you're all done.
