Try these steps to see if you are removing your mascara the right way

A good makeup look takes time, but when it comes to removing it, most of us rush the process. It may not harm your lashes if you only do it once in a while, but if you wear false lashes or several layers of mascara on a daily basis, then you need to show those lashes some love at the end of the day.
You probably already have a method in place, but trying a new approach may yield longer, less fragile lashes long term. If you're accustomed to simply using the same facial cleanser on your eye area, that's okay, as long as it's gentle and effective.

1. Use gentle, sweeping downward motions
When it's time to remove your makeup, always work in a downward motion. Rubbing in circles can cause breakage, and you'll be more likely to smear mascara into your eyes.
2. Makeup removing wipes are fine for light makeup
Busy days mean quick cleansing. If you generally wear minimal mascara, you can use a makeup removing wipe to take off your makeup...just don't tug.

3. Go easy with cleansing pads
Eye makeup remover certainly does a good job, and if you wear false lashes, you should be using an oil-free version to keep the lash band from deteriorating. When using a cotton pad soaked in makeup remover, gently dab or pat it against the eye area in a downward motion to remove mascara. Tip: Cotton pads are not created equal. Look for the softest variety you can afford . These are your eyes, after all.
4. Oil cleanser or cleansing balm works best
One the gentlest ways to remove your mascara is to use a cleansing oil or cleansing balm. Gently massage in downward motions like Farah does in her video. Tip: If you wear contact lenses, keep a bottle of eye drops handy. A few drops quickly clear blurry lenses post-cleanse.

5. Cleansing water is great for minor cleanup
If you've removed your mascara but still need to touch up your lower lash line, simply dip a Q-tip in cleansing water and gently sweep away any remaining debris.
