Keep your makeup on during humid weather by following these 6 makeup tips

If you live or vacation in humid areas, then you know the struggle to keep your makeup on is very, very real. Even if you work indoors, you still have to travel in and out of your office or home during the course of a day, and your makeup can suffer.
Just like you modify your skin care routine season to season, your makeup application needs to change with the weather. To keep your colors true and your face from looking like an oil slick, just adopt a few new techniques, and you'll look flawless no matter what the thermometer says.

1. Swap your moisturizer for something in a gel formula
Your skin still needs hydration, so look for a gel cream. It will keep your skin looking good without feeling sticky.
2. Switch to an oil controlling primer
Unless you have really dry skin, prime your face with a product designed to control oil or reduce the appearance of pores. You'll need to blot less throughout the day.
3. Powder your lids
Wait. What? While primer will keep your foundation in place, your eye shadow will stay truer longer if you set your primer with powder before applying your shadow. It sounds weird, but it really works.
4. Set your foundation with powder
Even those with normal skin need to powder to keep foundation in place. Use a fluffy brush to apply it, then press it into your skin with a damp beauty sponge.
5. Layer your blush
Powder products disappear within minutes in humid environments, so consider doubling up here, too. Apply cream blush initially, then set it with a powder version in the same color for more staying power.
6. Use a finishing spray
To lock everything in place and remove any dustiness from your powder, spritz your face with finishing or setting spray. You can even spray it onto a beauty sponge and dab it under your eyes to fix your concealer.
