Some days, we wear makeup just for the fun of it. But let's be honest -- most of the time we're just trying to conceal something that we really don't like. If you have darkness in the under-eye area, then concealer is a must.
The trouble, though, is that the under-eye area naturally lacks moisture. Add concealer and powder to that area and -- poof -- creases! Minimize this unsightly look with just a few simple changes.

1. Always apply primer
Before you pick up a single product, prime the under eye area and let it dry before proceeding. Primer fills in tiny lines and provides a smooth surface for concealer.

2. Don't bring your foundation up to the waterline
To avoid making the under eye look caked, carefully apply your foundation. If you bring it all the way up, your concealer sits on top of it, and two layers of product are bound to crease.

3. Apply concealer only where you need it
You paid a lot for that little pot or tube, so don't go crazy applying it everywhere. Use a concealer brush, a damp beauty sponge or your fingers to pat it into place.

4. Powder lightly to set
Despite tons of YouTube videos touting the glory of baking your concealer, you need to use a light hand when applying your setting powder under your eyes. The more product, the greater the chance of making your under eye look drier and (sigh) older.

5. Apply a little pressure
Instead of just dusting the powder below your eyes, press it into place to help it meld with the concealer. Use a damp beauty sponge or makeup sponge misted lightly with setting spray. That teeny bit of moisture gets rid of the dusty, unset powder.

6. Ditch the powder in favor of setting spray
If you don't mind touching up your eye area during the day, forego powder altogether. Simply dab setting spray onto the concealer to flatten out any creases that occur.
