Trying to choose the type of finish you want when applying makeup is incredibly personal. The dewy, luminous look is beautiful, but your skin may need more coverage. Matte makeup covers every imperfection, but it can look one-dimensional and feel heavy.
If neither of these options sound inspiring, try the “just right” Goldilocks finish, better known as semi-matte. It offers good coverage, a breathable texture and works for every skin type. The following tutorial will help you achieve a semi-matte finish by using a lightweight liquid foundation and translucent powder. Feel free to conceal any areas that bother you. The video demonstrates how you can achieve this lovely look

Instructions
1. Apply the lighter shade of liquid foundation to your face and press it into your skin with a damp beauty sponge.
1. Apply the lighter shade of liquid foundation to your face and press it into your skin with a damp beauty sponge.
2. To cover dark circles under your eyes, apply the darker concealer with the applicator wand where you have discoloration, then layer a small amount of lighter concealer on top of it. Press the concealer into your skin with the damp beauty sponge. Give your face added dimension by dabbing the residual concealer on the beauty sponge onto the center of your forehead. Tip: You can also conceal discoloration on your eyelids the same way.
3. Contour your face with the darker foundation. Apply small dots of color around the upper corners of your forehead, under the cheekbones and along the jawline. Use a foundation brush to diffuse the product and eliminate harsh lines. Tip: Pat the brush against your skin while stippling the product in place. This will reduce the possibility of leaving brush marks behind.
4. Deepen the contours by tapping deep golden brown contour powder under your cheekbones, along the corners of the forehea, and along the jawline with the cheek brush.
5. For a matte finish that lasts all day, apply translucent powder to your entire face with a damp beauty sponge . Sweep away any excess powder with a fluffy powder brush.
6. Liven up your complexion by applying coral blush to your cheeks with a fluffy blush brush in light, tapping strokes. Tip: Begin at the apples, then sweep the blush up toward the top of your ear in a diagonal motion. Blend thoroughly to eliminate harsh edges.
7. Highlight your cheekbones, temples, brow bone, nose and chin by brushing white gold highlighting powder onto the skin with a cheek brush.
