Hack or wack? Blackhead remover tool

Blackheads are pesky little imperfections that don't require any explanation. They commonly appear on and around the nose, and if you've ever tried to squeeze them out by hand, you've likely damaged your tender skin. Because they're so common, several companies have developed their own version of a blackhead removal tool.
The tool you'll see in this video is used for both blackhead removal and microdermabrasion, a process that combines suction with a skin-refining tip. These little gizmos improve circulation in the skin and are believed by many to reduce the appearance of fine lines. If all this sounds like something you're dying to try, watch this tutorial to see if it works.

Materials
- Blackhead microdermabrasion tool with multiple suction strengths
- Three suction tips: small circle, oval and large circle
- Toning mist
Directions
1. To get the best results, begin with freshly cleansed skin. Use a personal steamer or a warm towel to open pores.
2. Attach the small circle tip to the device, and turn it on to the lowest setting. Slowly move the tip along the skin on your nose in one direction. (You should feel a slight tugging sensation.) Continue around the edges of your nose wherever you see blackheads.
3. Increase the suction power and sweep the tool over your entire nose, including the bridge as well as around your nostrils.
4. If you want to target fine lines, switch to the oval tip. Pull your skin taut, then drag the tool in a straight line.
5. For your final pass, select the large circle tip and sweep the tool upward on your forehead. You can also use it on your jawline, chin and cheeks, but remember to hold the skin taut.
6. When you're finished, turn off the device and mist your face with toner to close your pores.
The verdict? The user experienced some success but no miracles by any means. The device did leave her skin feeling more invigorated because of increasing blood circulation in the treated areas. Overall, it's not a bad tool, but it's not the be-all-end-all either. You be the judge.
