How to apply translucent powder on your lips

The matte lip trend continues to be incredibly popular, but what if you don't want to buy a new shade or would rather use your current color instead? You've probably tried blotting glossy lips only to discover that most of the color transferred onto the tissue, leaving you with less than stellar results.
The solution couldn't be simpler. All you need are a few items that you probably already have in your makeup kit. Translucent powder (or even one with a very light tint) can quickly mattify any lipstick, but you can't just apply it directly. Do that, and you'll end up with cakey-looking lips and a brush that needs to be thoroughly cleaned immediately. Instead, try this easy technique.

Materials
- Lipstick, any shade
- A tissue or square of toilet paper
- Loose translucent powder
- A fluffy powder brush
Instructions
1. Apply a single coat of your favorite lipstick.
2. Hold a tissue against your lips but don't press. You want the powder to sift through the tissue and stick to your lips.
3. Dip the fluffy brush into the loose powder.
4. Gently brush the powder against the tissue in a left to right motion. Don't be stingy here, either. You want to fully coat your lips to get a matte effect.
5. Carefully remove the tissue and admire your gorgeous lips. The gloss is gone, but the color stays behind.
