How to exfoliate and hydrate

Good makeup days always start with good skin care. Your face is your canvas, so try to keep it in tip-top condition by exfoliating weekly. Every day, skin comes in contact with pollutants as well as the usual grime. What's in the air will inevitably end up on your face, and the result can be an uneven skin tone and general dullness.
To combat the buildup, try exfoliating two to three times per week (less if your skin is sensitive or inflamed). You can use an exfoliating cleanser or a separate product, but be sure to choose one that is gentle. After all, you don't want anything abrasive on your skin. Watch the quick tutorial to see how little pressure is actually required to get the job done.

Materials
- Exfoliating scrub or cleanser
- Clean, dry towel
- Moisturizer
Directions
1. Wet your face thoroughly. If you're using a separate cleanser, be sure to wash your face before you complete this step.
2. Take a small amount of exfoliator and gently massage it into your skin in circular motions. If it feels like you're scratching your face, lighten up on the pressure. The product should do most of the work.
3. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry.
4. Before you proceed with makeup, be sure to apply a layer of moisturizer. Because you've sloughed off dead skin cells, your skin will drink the hydration much faster than before.
5. Apply your makeup.
