6 tips for blending your foundation into your neck for a flawless look

When the weather's cold and chilly, the last thing you worry about is matching your foundation on your face and neck. But when things warm up, and you start wearing lower necklines or tank tops, there's always a chance that the skin on your face won't match the skin on your neck.
Getting a good match just requires a little creativity and a few extra steps. Be sure your skin is well primed and moisturized before you begin because you'll be applying more base makeup than normal, and a smooth canvas is just the first step.

1. Match the lightest area first
We've all been taught to apply foundation from the center outward. This applies when matching your neck and face as well. Instead of darkening the entire face, opt for a color that matches your cheek area instead of your jaw. The final result will match your neck better than if you chose a darker shade.
2. Even out your neck
The center of your neck is usually lighter than your face (unless you've been tanning with your chin pointed skyward), but you may also have bands of different colors like Eden does. If the difference is subtle, try using a tinted moisturizer or BB cream to achieve a more even shade.
3. Use color drops as a mix-in
Sometimes, you just need a shade slightly darker than your normal base. If this is the case, try custom mixing a few color enhancing drops into your foundation (using the back of your hand as a palette). This gives you control over each application without needing to buy multiple bottles of foundation.
4. Use multiple shades as color correctors
Sometimes, you need to be really creative to get a match, like Nezi does. If your neck is considerably darker than your face, try applying a lighter shade with a similar undertone first, then apply a darker shade on top. You'll be blending the two colors to achieve a custom result.
5. Work that beauty sponge
To create an airbrushed finish, use a damp beauty sponge to press your base shade into your neck. A brush can leave tiny streaks, whereas a beautyblender will create a flawless look.

6. Use bronzer to warm up your face
If your neck is only slightly darker than your face, you can apply your foundation as usual and follow up with a kiss of bronzing powder on the cheeks, nose, and chin.
