6 helpful tips that you need to know about color correcting

Remember having an entire box of Crayons as a kid? Well, just because you're all grown up doesn't mean your days of playing with color are over. If you have any type of discoloration, then color correctors are a makeup must.
You can buy a multi-colored palette to cover all your bases, or simply grab the colors you need most often. One thing is for certain: once you master using them, you'll wonder how you ever did your makeup without them.

1. Prime first
As with all makeup, primer makes everything go on and stay on better. Even a lightweight spray primer will help you blend in your color correctors quickly without having them drag on the skin.

2. Find the right formula
Color correctors comes in liquids, sticks, pans, and in click pens. Choosing one that covers appropriately and blends seamlessly is key, so test out a few different formulas before settling on just one.
3. Dab in, don't rub
While you don't want your color to be obvious on your finished face, you don't want it to completely blend in before you apply your base. A slight hint of color should remain after you dab it in with a damp beautyblender.

4. Peach covers under eye circles on almost everyone
If you've been using concealer under your eyes, then this will be a game changer. Most dark circles have a hint of blue or purple to them, so peach or orange will cancel out the darkness far better than concealer alone.
5. Purple banishes sallowness
Most of us have some slight discoloration at the edges of our outer eye and around our mouth. Purple acts like an illuminator and banishes that darkness beautifully.
6. Green should be in every makeup bag
When it comes to the king daddy of correctors, green is bae. You can use it to correct redness around your nose (especially when winter wind irritates your skin) as well as on your chin and cheeks.
